First of all, Noynoy belongs to the Liberal Party. Take a look at its official platform. http://antipinoy.com/heres-a-platform-but-no-ones-standing-on-it/
It begins with its praise for free market at the preamble, only to be contradicted at the middle with government interventionism. True (classical) Liberals would emphasize individual rights, especially property rights, minimal government and non-intervention into the market, low/minimal taxes, floating of the wage to market-clearing levels, etc.
It is clear that the Philippine Liberal Party is not a TRUE LIBERAL party. It belongs to the so-called modern Liberalism of continued government interventionism and social distribution of
wealth. Having said that, fully implementing the Liberal Party platform will only bring us to The Road to Serfdom called democratic socialism and environmentalism, with all the global warming crap. Therefore, criticizing Noynoy on a somewhat more objective level clearly reveals why I a Libertarian should not vote for him.
But to add insult to injury, many people have noticed that aside from he doesn't have any platform, he might also be [RATIONALLY] IGNORANT of his party's platform. To believe and fight for a flawed platform is bad enough, not to have one and to rely solely on the hype of the Ninoy Aquino for President Movement is simply worse. But who would be surprised? It simply reflects the quality of our electorate.
I pity Noynoy that he graduated BS Economics from the Ateneo De Manila, but he appears on National TV plainly ignorant of economics, just cashing on what was left of the Cory Magic. If he really knows something, then he should know that one of the important steps we could do to promote free-market capitalism is to revise our Constitution. Remove the SOCIALISTIC PROVISIONS, i.e. those that read with "The State shall provide..." etc. So many people, even those who believe in CHACHA, don't want to do it right now because they mistrust Arroyo's government. Therefore, if Noynoy truly believes that his honesty can change a lot of things, then he should be bold enough to pursue Charter Change. He's honest anyway, or so he claims. Therefore, there's no longer any moral objection for CHACHA.
Going back to my disappointment with his ignorance of economics, he'll probably do worse the Ben Bernanke, albeit on a different level. Ben Bernanke is the current Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, it's central bank. Instead of just letting the market set interest rates and let AIG and a host of others fail, he intervened. To use Jim Rogers's words, he's there "protecting his friends in Wall St." Ben Bernanke graduated summa cum Laude in BS Economics from Harvard, and has a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, yet he is the person responsible for making the market correction of the US Economy into a Great Depression 2.0
I have less hopes for the Philippines under Noynoy. And it's all because of the ELECTORATE, who refuse to understand that economic and social prosperity lays not in the hand of having an honest, sincere, or even a competent President. It's a function of respect for Individual and Property Rights, i.e. Liberty; a free-market, especially sound money and less taxes; capitalistic savings and all those things that describe the ideal FREE-MARKET CAPITALISM.
